Post 9 >> English Language Challenges

Hi everyone! Today I will probably write the last post of this year, so today I would like to tell you about my experience doing blogs to learn and improve my English at university. First of all, I would like to say that I thought  the experience of learning English in the university as something boring and theoretical, as in school, but I must say that I was completely wrong!.  Although I didn’t practice my English for a long time, the classes and the teacher have been totally interesting and fun, making my first experience in English at university much better. About using blogs, this has seemed very good to me, because I had never occupied this tool, much less writing in English. It has been very helpful for me, to practice and complement my way of writing in English it has also helped me to expand my vocabulary.  The only bad thing about this is that we can’t get feedback about what we write, sometimes I don’t know if I’m conjugating well or if i'm usi...

Post 8 >> A Subject you've enjoyed Studying this Semester: Sociology

Hi everyone! Today i will talk about my favorite subject in this semester.  As you know, I’m an anthropologist student, so i have many different subjects, especially in my first 2 years, because I’m in a basic cycle of anthropology. In this respect I have subjects like anthropology II, archaeology II, evolution, Social History of Chile and Sociology.  Choose just one is actually kind of difficult for me, everyone has something interesting… I’m between archaeology and sociology, but I think I'll stay with the last... This subject has taught me about the differences and similarities about this two careers… in classes, the teacher usually does expository classes, after that, we have discussions and debates about the subject, it’s very interesting because is a good instance to learn in a dynamic way. The main contents that we have seen in the semester are the...

Hi! Everyone, today i will talk about a career related website. As you know, I’m an anthropology student at the University of Chile, since 2017, so I’m quite new in this field but, I am very interested in this career. In this respect, there is a website that i discovered a couple of years ago, when i became interested in anthropology, the website is called “El antropólogo principiante” or ‘The beginner anthropologist’ in English. This is a very interesting blog; it belongs to a former student of anthropology from Spain, specifically from the UNED University (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia) in Madrid. The blog tells the experience of the author, Juan, after having studied 4 years of anthropology. He wrote about his experiences studying the career, also he explains why he left the career after 4 years!!!  OMG. But the most interesting part about the website, are the many sections that you can find, the author talks about different topics (very interesting cur...
